SB30 Mandatory Helmet Requirement (passed 22 to 3 on 4/30/2025). Amends the Hawaii Revised Statutes to require all operators and passengers of motorcycles, motor scooters, and mopeds to wear safety helmets. This bill eliminates exemptions for individuals over 18 and imposes fines for non-compliance to increase public safety by reducing head injuries.

HB392 “Ghost Gun” Ban (passed 22 to 3 on 3/31/2025). Prohibits the manufacture, sale, possession, transfer, or acquisition of unserialized "ghost gun" firearms. This legislation imposes felony penalties for violations, and requires existing owners to serialize or dispose of such firearms by January 1, 2026.

SB2443 Speed Enforcement Cameras (Passed 21 to 4 on 5/1/2024). Authorizes the use of fixed speed cameras in up to 10 school zones statewide, allowing the state or counties to administer the system.

SB2753 State and Federal Code Alignment (Passed 25 to 0 on 5/1/2024). Aligns Hawaii's building codes with federal EPA regulations by allowing substitute refrigerants, supporting climate goals and easing compliance with the phasedown of HFCs under the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020.

SB3091 Food Cost Increase (Passed 25 to 0 on 5/1/2024). Allocated an emergency appropriation of $20 million to the state Department of Education to address a significant shortfall in its school food service operations.

SB3125 Consent and Medical Care for Minors (Passed 21 to 3 on 4/25/2024). Allows minors aged 14 and older to consent to medical care related to sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, and preventive measures like HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis without requiring parental approval.

HB1366 Hobbyist Firearm Ban (Passed 42 to 8 on 4/13/2021). Bans numerous unfinished firearm components and home-built hobbyist firearms.

SB294 Limiting Asset Forfeiture Abuse (Passed 48 to 2 on 4/8/2021). Limits the controversial tactic of civil asset forfeiture, in other words the tactic of taking property from individuals before a conviction.

Permitting Nurses to Perform Abortions (Passed 42 to 9 on 3/9/2021). Lowers criteria for allowing nurses to perform abortions.

HB103 Ending the Covid-19 Emergency (Passed 50 to 0 3/5/2021). Limits executive emergency powers utilized during the Covid-19 emergency with a legislative check.

HB111 Banning Fossil Fuels (Passed 45 to 5 on 3/4/2021). Bans utility companies from utilizing fossil fuels for energy production by the year 2045.
