SB1362 prevents governmental entities in Texas from enforcing “extreme risk protective orders.”

The Senate passed SB1362 on May 30, 2025, by a vote of 20 to 11. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because “extreme risk protective orders,” also known as “red flag orders,” involve confiscating firearms from persons who have not even been charged with a crime. In addition, they effectively mandate universal background checks for all firearm purchases or transfers, enabling government efforts to conduct mass surveillance and create a national gun-owner database. The Second Amendment declares that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” whereas the Fifth and the 14th Amendments prohibit “any State” from depriving “any person” of their “liberty, or property, without due process of law.” Thus, “red flag orders” are blatantly unconstitutional, and, like other acts of gun control, should be rendered “null and void.”

HB1056 creates a transactional currency backed by “gold and silver,” and recognizes it as “legal tender.”   

The Senate passed HB1056 on May 28, 2025, by a vote of 18 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because this bill brings Texas closer to restoring sound money and adhering to the U.S. Constitution’s monetary provisions. Article 1, Section 10, of the Constitution says that “No State shall … make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.” States can and need to act now to protect Americans’ financial freedom and privacy by both ending the Federal Reserve’s unconstitutional monopoly on money and thwarting government plans to impose a Central Bank Digital Currency.

SB33 bans the use of public funds for abortion-related travel.

The Senate passed SB33 on May 26, 2025, by a vote of 22 to 9. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because abortion is murder, and no person has a right to take the life of a preborn child, let alone force their neighbor to pay for it. Given that the care of human life—not its destruction—is the greatest responsibility of government, Texas ought to abolish abortion entirely, forbidding its every method and means of procurement. The right to life is the most fundamental, God-given, and “unalienable” right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence and secured by the Fifth and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

HB2 authorizes $8.5 billion in new funding to public schools, including for teacher and staff pay raises, early-childhood programs, and bilingual education.

The Senate passed HB2 on May 23, 2025, by a vote of 31 to 0. We have assigned pluses to the nays because education is not the role of government—it is the responsibility of a child’s parents or family. Schools can and should be privatized, without any need for public funding that steals from taxpayers (e.g., property taxes) and drains the treasury. If not dismantled, the government’s monopoly on preK-12 education will continue to displace traditional private schools and homeschooling in favor of universal state-sponsored schooling. The best “school choice,” by far, is for parents to choose not to place their child’s education in the hands of the state. Educational and economic freedom cannot be achieved by forcing other citizens to give up their hard-earned tax dollars for all that now entails a compulsory, failing, and government-run school system.

HJR98 applies to Congress to “call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution.”

The Senate adopted HJR98 on May 8, 2025, by a vote of 17 to 14. We have assigned pluses to the nays because efforts to call an Article V convention must be resisted. A constitutional convention (Con-Con) would have the power to make major changes to the U.S. Constitution, or even completely rewrite it. Instead of risking the danger of a “runaway convention,” which could act as a “Trojan horse” to destroy many of the Constitution’s limitations on government power, state legislators should uphold their oath of office. In other words, the problem is not the Constitution, but lawmakers’ failure to follow it. Article VI requires that all state legislators “shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution.” Article V, however, was designed to correct potential errors or defects in the Constitution, not to “misconstrue or abuse its powers.” It’s time for “We the People” to demand that state legislators use Article VI to enforce the Constitution, rather than use Article V to alter or abolish it.

SB18 would have defunded municipal libraries that host “Drag Queen Story Hour” events.

The Senate passed SB18 on March 19, 2025, by a vote of 20 to 11. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because “Drag Queen Story Hour” should be illegal. No person has a right to sexually “groom” or abuse a child using the pretext of LGBTQ+ ideology, and the government has a duty to prohibit public displays of obscene, indecent, or profane activity. Indeed, prior to the counter-cultural “gay rights” movement of the 1960s, many states had laws against not only homosexual conduct, but “cross dressing.” Conflation of biological sex and fictional “gender identity” constructs (e.g., “nonbinary,” “intersex,” or “two-spirit”) is absurd, and results in grossly illicit acts of sexual perversion contrary to the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.” The right of the people to protect both themselves and their children from "transanity" is retained under the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment.

SB3 allocates $1.54 billion for border security over two years, funding law enforcement and border barriers. It includes $40 million for enhanced law enforcement in Liberty County's Colony Ridge. Funds cannot be used for land acquired through eminent domain or for barriers on such land.

The Texas State Senate passed SB3 on December 1, 2023 by a vote of 18 to 9. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because the bill strengthens border security and upholds American sovereignty. By funding enforcement and infrastructure, it counters federal policies that undermine the Constitution, deters illegal entry, and reinforces the rule of law to minimize unlawful immigration. This bill addresses the challenges of illegal immigration by safeguarding the nation’s borders and supporting policies that enhance national security rather than weaken it.

SB4 establishes penalties for unauthorized entry or reentry into the state by individuals classified as "aliens" under federal law, with penalties escalating for repeat offenses or previous deportations. Courts can order violators to return to their country of origin under specific conditions.

The Texas State Senate passed SB4 on November 9, 2023 by a vote of 17 to 11. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because this bill takes a strong stance against illegal reentry, reinforcing immigration laws that protect American sovereignty. By imposing penalties and curbing unlawful migration, SB4 helps counter policies that facilitate mass migration and undermine our Republic’s constitutional foundations. It also safeguards the rule of law by ensuring that immigration-law violations are met with consequences, rather than leniency, which would further erode border security and national integrity.

SB1 would create an Education Savings Account (ESA) program providing $8,000 annually per eligible child for private-education expenses, including tuition, textbooks, and tutoring.

The Texas State Senate passed SB1 on October 12, 2023 by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the nays because all government money comes with strings attached. ESAs might sound good in theory, but they expand government involvement into all aspects of education — including homeschools and religious schools — and can potentially affect rules and curriculum. We encourage all parents to get their children out of government schools and instead pursue sound alternatives such as homeschooling and patriotic private schools, like FreedomProject Academy, that don’t use government funds.

SB1070 withdraws Texas from Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC).

The Texas State Senate passed SB1070 on May 27, 2023 by a vote of 18 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because ERIC is a George Soros-funded program that states have no business being involved with. ERIC collects private election data handed over by the states and is not transparent in how it manages that data. Instead of cleaning up the voter rolls, they inflate voter rolls significantly via private voter data.

HB1243 would increase the criminal penalty for illegal voting from a Class A misdemeanor to either a state jail felony for attempted illegal voting or second-degree felony for illegal voting.

The Texas State Senate passed HB1243 on May 24, 2023 by a vote of 19 to 11. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because increasing the penalty for voter fraud is a step in protecting election integrity. States should do all they can to protect the ballot box.

HB900, titled the READER act, prevents sexually explicit materials from being within reach of children in government schools, and it prevents vendors from selling such materials to school districts.

The Texas State Senate Passed HB900 on May 23, 2023 by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because it protects children from inappropriate content and upholds family values. By blocking sexually explicit materials in schools, the bill reinforces parents' rights in education and fosters a learning environment rooted in academic excellence and moral integrity. It also ensures taxpayer dollars won’t fund programs promoting woke culture or divisive propaganda. This legislation is a vital step toward reclaiming our schools and safeguarding our children.

HB1058 enacts an insurance premium tax credit for certain housing developments. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) would grant credits to eligible developments according to department-set criteria. The credits for a development must not surpass the total federal tax credit received by the development's owner over ten years. The annual credit limit is $25 million, including unallocated prior-year credits and any recaptured or returned credits.

The Texas State Senate passed HB1058 on May 22, 2023 by a vote of 25 to 6. We have assigned pluses to the nays because this is government interfering in the free market, and this government subsidized housing benefits only a specific part of the population. This is also another step towards socialism as subsidized housing is a misuse of taxpayer dollars.

HB4363 establishes the Future Texas Teachers Scholarship Program for certain students at public institutions of higher education.

The Texas State Senate passed HB4263 on May 21, 2023 by a vote of 25 to 6. We have assigned pluses to the nays because taxpayers should not be on the hook for funding an individual’s education or providing scholarships. Government should not interfere in personal matters such as education, and allocating funds based on certain criteria infringes upon personal freedom and violates the 14th Amendment.

SB990 eliminates of the countywide polling place program.

The Texas State Senate passed SB990 on April 20, 2023 by a vote of 17 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because allowing Texans to vote in centralized polling places under the countywide polling place program undermines the precinct. Countywide polling places increase the risk of fraud, compromising even more votes.

SB17 bans diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives at colleges and public institutions of higher education.

The Texas State Senate passed SB17 on April 19, 2023 by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because the goal of DEI is to pit Americans against each other. Reverse racism is still racism. Instead of pushing for equality, which is what the Constitution stands for, DEI programs in school push for equity, which is rooted in communism and is part of the Marxist agenda.

SB1158 expands eligibility for funding under the Major Events Reimbursement Program by amending the Government Code to classify each series of World Cup games in a designated market area as separate, single events.

The Texas State Senate passed SB1158 on April 17, 2023 by a vote of 28 to 3. We have assigned pluses to the nays because privately-owned billion-dollar entities such as the World Cup should be expected to pay for their own facilities and events, which they can more than afford. Forcing people to furnish proliferate amounts of taxpayer money when attending games or concerts to fund crony, corporate-sponsored projects violates their individual liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

SJR52 extends the deadline for the automatic rescission of certain applications made by the Texas Legislature to the United States Congress to call a national constitutional convention under Article V of the United States Constitution for proposing any amendment to that constitution.

The Texas State Senate passed SJR52 on March 21, 2023 by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the nays because a so-called “Convention of the States” would not be of “limited” purpose. The vague and contradictory text contained in this joint resolution dangerously permits what Article V of the U.S. Constitution describes as a “Convention for proposing Amendments” or second constitutional convention. Notably, Article V of the U.S. Constitution was designed to correct structural deficiencies in the federal government, not the behavior of its elected officials. SJR52 should be opposed in favor of less risky, more precise, and immediate solutions that would restore power back to the states and to the people, such as clear-cut proposals in Congress to repeal bad amendments or state nullification of specific unauthorized federal laws.

SB1, as passed by the Texas Legislature, appropriates approximately $248.6 billion for the FY 2022-23. After the Governor’s line-item veto proclamation, roughly $248.1 billion of those appropriations became law as part of the biennial state budget.

The Senate passed SB1 on May 26, 2021, by a vote of 31 to 0. We have assigned minuses to the yeas because Texas’ spending plan for 2022-23 includes $84.8 billion of mostly unconstitutional federal funding, representing 34.2% of the state’s entire budget. It not only continues participation in a number of the state’s Medicaid programs, which have expanded to more than 5 million recipients, but relies on $13.8 billion in funds available through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). States should oppose the use of federal taxpayer money for purposes not authorized under Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution.

HB3 would create the Texas Pandemic Response Act, allowing the governor to issue “pandemic disaster” declarations. It also establishes the 10-member Pandemic Disaster Legislative Oversight Committee, which includes the lieutenant governor, to oversee  pandemic disaster declarations when the legislature is not convened in regular or special session.

The Senate passed HB3 on May 25, 2021, by a vote of 30 to 1. We have assigned pluses to the nays because oversight of executive emergency powers belongs to the legislative branch of government. HB3 relegates the Legislature as less than a co-equal, granting too much authority to the Governor, who should not be able to renew a disaster declaration beyond 30 days. Under Article IV, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution, each state is guaranteed a republican form of government, which requires a limitation and separation of powers.

HB492 limits the issuance of ‘no-knock’ arrest and search warrants to only situations in which it is “necessary to avoid the risk of death or serious bodily injury to peace officers and others.” It also requires their approval at the highest level of a law enforcement agency and the authorization of a district court or statutory county court judge.

The Senate passed HB492 on May 25, 2021, by a vote of 30 to 1. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because 'no-knock' warrants undermine the rights of Americans protected specifically by the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. 'No-knock' warrants, by definition, violate the basic principle that law enforcement should not forcibly enter a premises without first providing notice of their authority and purpose of executing a warrant.

HB1927 allows permitless carry of a handgun for persons 21 years of age or older. It also makes a person who has been convicted of an offense involving the unlawful carrying of a handgun on another's property before September 1, 2021, eligible to have all records and files relating to the arrest expunged.

The Senate passed HB1927 on May 5, 2021, by a vote of 18 to 13. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because the fundamental right of the American people to keep and bear arms should not be infringed, as guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

SB7 seeks to prevent election fraud by both creating criminal offenses and increasing criminal penalties. Among other provisions, it would: ban after-hours voting; prohibit mobile, outdoor, and drive-thru voting and drop boxes; provide an online system for voters to track mail-in ballots; and make “voting harvesting” a felony.

The Senate passed SB7 on April 1, 2021, by a vote of 18 to 13. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because states should exercise their authority, under Article 1, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution, to implement free, fair, and secure elections, guaranteeing equal protection of the right of citizens of the United States to vote.

SB8 prohibits an abortion after a fetal heartbeat has been detected, except for when a woman has a “medical emergency,” which places the woman in danger of death or a serious risk of substantial impairment of a major bodily function.

The Senate passed SB8 on March 30, 2021, by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because states should act to ban abortion and guarantee the right to life for all persons. The right to life is the most fundamental, God-given, and unalienable right asserted in the Declaration of Independence and protected by the 5th and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

SB535 would allow churchgoers and attendees to carry rifles into churches, for protection in case of attacks or other dire situations.

The Texas State Senate passed SB535 on May 1, 2019 by a vote of 25 to 6. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because this bill would bring us closer to compliance with the U.S. Constitution. The Second Amendment states that "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This principle holds true in places of worship as well.

HB1631 would prohibit photographic traffic signal enforcement systems from operating or being used by law enforcement.

The Texas State Senate passed HB1631 on May 17, 2019 by a vote of 26 to 5. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because this bill would protect the privacy rights of Texas citizens and rein in governmental surveillance. Increasingly, privacy is being stripped away from citizens in the name of safety, but this is not what the Founders wanted for our nation.

HB170 would add more healthcare coverage and costs to the average person by adding coverage for mammography.

The Texas State Senate passed HB170 on May 22, 2019 by a vote of 26 to 5. We have assigned pluses to the nays as this is an overreach by the government. Government should not interfere in healthcare or the free market. The Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Government interference is in direct conflict with that belief.

SB1834 would create an incentive encouraging people on the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to purchase fruits and vegetables grown in the state of Texas.

The Texas State Senate passed SB1834 by a vote of 26 to 4 on April 25, 2019. We have assigned pluses to the nays as this bill increases government interference in the economy, resulting in SNAP participants purchasing fruits and vegetables that could be found cheaper elsewhere. We believe that this bill also violates the free market principles that helped our nation grow, and gives an unfair leg up to Texas producers. Finally, the SNAP program is itself an unconstitutional expansion of the federal government's scope.

SB462 would ensure that language in ballot propositions that would raise taxes are clear about the cost increases that residents would have brought upon them.

The Texas State Senate passed SB462 on April 16, 2019 by a vote of 19 to 12. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because this bill will help ensure people know what they are voting for. Too often, we see resolutions confusingly written that will increase taxes and have other deleterious effects. SB462 would ensure taxpayers know what they are signing up for when voting on resolutions.

SB17 ensures that employers cannot discriminate based on religious beliefs. This bill would also ensure employees cannot be fired for statements they make about their own beliefs.

The Texas State Senate passed SB17 on April 3, 2019 by a vote of 19 to 12 We have assigned pluses to the ayes because religious discrimination against Christians is increasing, and this bill will help prevent that. U.S. President John Adams wrote, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People," and attacks on Christianity and discrimination based on religious beliefs are not proper.
