SB4 defines "core public health services" for purposes of public health laws, provides that the state department may provide services to local health departments, and requires each local board of health to establish a local public health services fund to receive state funding.

The Indiana State Senate passed SB4 on February 23, 2023 by a vote of 41 to 7. We have assigned pluses to the nays because "public health" is not the role of government, and taxation in the name of “social welfare” is neither just nor charitable. The Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment were written to prevent such “nanny state” policies and the reckless use of taxpayer money.
