SB487 updates the systematic purging program for removing ineligible voters from active voter rolls by decreasing the period of voting inactivity from four to two years.
The West Virginia House of Delegates passed SB487 on March 17, 2025 by a vote of 84 to 9. We have assigned pluses to the yeas because any effort to clean up the voter rolls is a good step for election integrity. States should exercise their authority under Article 1, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution, to implement free, fair, and secure elections.
