HB1424 Federal Employee Assistance Fund (Passed 105 to 33 on 4/7/2025). Establishes the Federal Government Employee Assistance Loan Fund, expanding it to provide no-interest loans to federal employees unpaid due to a government shutdown, terminated due to closures, relocations, layoffs, or financial hardship.

HB525 “AI” Media Ban (Passed 127 to 10 on 4/3/25). Prohibits influencing or attempting to influence a voter’s decision to cast a vote for a candidate or ballot issue by disseminating a “deepfake” to falsely depict a person with “false intent.”

SB587 Reparations Bill (Passed 101 to 36 on 4/2/2025). Establishes the Maryland Reparations Commission to study and recommend benefits for descendants of individuals enslaved in Maryland or impacted by inequitable government policies.

HB991 Minority Business Enterprise Program (Passed 121 to 16 on 4/2/2025). Extends the Minority Business Enterprise Program’s termination date, while postponing deadlines for reports evaluating "compliance with federal and constitutional" requirements, and mandating "race and gender-neutral” approaches to support minority and women-owned businesses.

HB1466 Centrally Planned Housing (Passed 138 to 1 on 3/17/2025). Mandates that legislative bodies of certain Maryland counties and municipalities adopt laws authorizing accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on lots with a single-family detached dwelling as the primary unit, while prohibiting restrictions on ADU rental.

HB930 Abortion Grant Program (Passed 98 to 37 on 3/13/2025). Establishes the Public Health Abortion Grant Program to provide funds for health care practitioners and organizations to provide access to abortion services.

HB1397 Protected Classes (Passed 122 to 11 on 4/8/2024). Expands the state's nondiscrimination laws by adding "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the list of protected characteristics.

HB691 New Immigrant Commission (Passed 100 to 39 on 3/18/2024). Establishes the Commission on New Americans within the state government.

HB155 Carbon Capture Program (Passed 102 to 35 on 3/13/2024). Establishes the Carbon Capture Opportunity Program within the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA).

HB666 SNAP Increase and Expansion (Passed 125 to 12 on 3/13/2024). Lowers the minimum age for household members to qualify for a state-provided supplemental benefit under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) from 62 to 60 years old and increases the amount of this supplemental benefit from $40 to $50.

HB641 Curbside Voting Expansion (Passed 116 to 20 on 3/12/2024). Would have required each local board of elections to designate an outdoor location for curbside voting. 

HB244 Maryland OSHA Penalties Increase (Passed 102 to 36 on 2/20/2024). Increases certain civil penalties for violations of the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Act.

SB36 'No-Fault Divorce' (passed 128 to 4 on 4/10/2023). Authorizes a family court to grant an “absolute divorce” on the grounds of either a six-month separation between the parties or “irreconcilable differences” based on reasons stated by the complainant.

HB283 Medicaid-Covered Sex Mutilation (passed 97 to 39 on 4/7/2023). Requires Medicaid, under the “Trans Health Equity Act,” to provide coverage for “gender-affirming treatment” to all “transgender, nonbinary, intersex, two-spirit, and other gender diverse individuals.”

HB1066 "Hate Crime" Commission (passed 106 to 31 on 3/31/2023). Establishes the Commission on Hate Crime Response and Prevention to “develop strategies to prevent and respond to hate crime activity” and “evaluate State laws and policies.”

SB798 'Right to Abortion' in the Maryland Constitution (passed 98 to 38 on 3/30/2023). Proposes to amend the Maryland Constitution to declare a “fundamental right” to “reproductive freedom,” including but not limited to the ability to “prevent, continue, or end one’s own pregnancy.”

HB967 Daishan Day (passed 135 to 1 on 3/20/2023). Proclaims October 5 annually as Dashain Day, codifying into law a Hindu religious festival in honor of Durga, the Universal Mother Goddess.

HB159 Warrantless Arrest for Firearms Purchases (passed 115 to 19 on 2/28/2023). Would allow a police officer to arrest a person without a warrant if the police officer has probable cause to believe that the person is a knowing participant in a “straw purchase” of a “regulated firearm.”
