SB63 bans doctors and other providers from giving gender-transition treatments—including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries—to minors under 18. It prohibits the use of state funds, facilities, or insurance coverage for such treatments; imposes disciplinary action, such as loss of license, on violators; and allows patients or parents to sue providers for damages. Liability insurance cannot cover providers in these cases, and minors already receiving treatment must discontinue by the end of 2025.
The Kansas State House of Representatives passed SB63 on February 18, 2025 by a vote of 84 to 35. We have assigned pluses to the ayes because the Left has been promoting radical Marxist ideas like this for years. The indoctrination that leads people to believe that they can choose their pronouns and identify as a different gender is immoral. Scientifically and biblically, there are only two genders. Additionally, minors are not capable of giving informed consent, and should not have the ability to choose a gender that contradicts their scientific classification, causing irreversible damage.
